The Friends of the Patient Charitable Society – Jenin is the first non-governmental organization working in the health sector in the Jenin Governorate. Founded in 1972, its aim is to provide medical services to patients in the governorate, particularly the poor, and to improve and expand access to healthcare.
The Society's headquarters are located in the western part of Jenin city, approximately 150 meters from Jenin Refugee Camp. Since its inception, the Society has dedicated significant effort to the care and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. To this end, it established the Al-Amal School for People with Special Needs, marking its first initiative. In 1984, it founded the Al-Amal Clinic, offering comprehensive and integrated healthcare services, including a laboratory, radiology department, medical clinic, emergency room, physiotherapy department, and specialized clinics. The Clinic also provides various programs for the care of people with disabilities, primary healthcare, health education, and other initiatives.
